As the Cheka-OGPU learned, the “right hand” of the life-sentenced ex-senator from Karachay-Cherkessia Rauf Arashukov, ex-director of the Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Stavropol LLC branch Guzer Khashukaev, sentenced at the end of 2022 to five years in prison for embezzlement and knowingly false denunciation, was released on parole. While serving his sentence, he never left the Moscow pre-trial detention center “Matrosskaya Tishina”, where he was placed after the verdict.

The administration of the detention center described him positively: the convict worked conscientiously, reformed and did not need to further serve his sentence. Representatives of the victim organizations Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Stavropol and Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Pyatigorsk did not object to Khashukaev’s request for parole. The court found that the convict had no penalties, actively took part in the public life of the detachment, worked, maintained contact with his family, and partially compensated for the damage in his criminal case, intending to continue compensation.

Khashukaev was the only person involved in the Arashukov case who admitted his guilt, and the jury called him worthy of leniency. In 2016-2017, he headed Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Cherkessk and the republican branch of Gazprom Gas Distribution Pyatigorsk. He also headed the Mineralovodsk branch of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Stavropol.
