48-year-old Georgian billionaire Temur Psuturi, declared bankrupt in 2019, has been awaiting a verdict in Kresty for almost a year. He was accused of fake selling an apartment in an elite residential complex in St. Petersburg for 16 million rubles, which did not belong to him.
The businessman himself, who built his fortune on preparing city roads for the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg, categorically denies his guilt. In court, he said that he was “charged with pennies” and was imprisoned “by order.”
Journalists from the editorial office of Lisa Basilio talked with the daughter and lawyers of Temur Psuturi. They call the accusation illegal, premature and unfounded. They also ask the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, to initiate a criminal case regarding the fact that the investigation submitted to the court a falsified schedule for familiarization with the materials of the criminal case and to bring the perpetrators to criminal liability. The defense draws attention to the fact that “all notifications from the investigator to Psuturi and his defense regarding his adoption of procedural decisions were drawn up in June 2024, and not on the dates indicated in the notifications.” At the same time, the accused himself has not yet seen any material evidence in the case.
However, the Investigative Committee denies this information. Moreover, the department insists that lawyers are “abusing their right to defense” and are also “trying to mislead the investigative authorities, the prosecutor and the court, and now the media.”
