The Basmanny court, at the request of the investigation, arrested him in absentia for two months from the moment of extradition or from the moment of detention. The Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation believes that, while at large, Plotitsa can “put pressure on witnesses and victims whose information is known to him, coordinate his testimony with other unidentified accomplices of criminal activity,” and also “may continue to engage in criminal activity, destroy evidence or otherwise interfere in any way with the criminal proceedings.”
At the end of August 2023, the head of the IT company Sputnik, Alexander Kim, and the organizer of the illegal excursion, Nikita Dubas, were arrested in connection with the death of people in the sewer. The third person involved, director of Avangard LLC Alexander Lazovsky, fled from investigation in the UAE on the day of the tragedy. He was put on the international wanted list and arrested in absentia.
