A hacker attack on SDEK’s digital infrastructure could put an end to the business of one of the largest courier delivery services, writes Moscow Monitor. The damage is already estimated at almost a billion rubles. But that’s not all. There will be demands for damages from customers for disrupting business and disrupting deliveries under government contracts. We can no longer talk about reputation.

There is also a discussion on social networks about a “mole” inside SDEK. As Retailer writes in its telegram channel, “the situation is the result of internal sabotage.” As a result, customer data – addresses, orders, telephone numbers – could also end up in the hands of hackers. With all the ensuing consequences for business, – writes “Lenta.ru”.

The head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Alexander Khinshtein, has already drawn attention to this. According to him, in accordance with the law, the company is obliged to disclose the extent of the leak within 24 hours, talk about what measures were taken to protect the system and submit the first results of the internal investigation to Roskomnadzor. But SDEK did not do this.

SDEK has already had problems with regulators and security forces, Mosmonitor recalls. In the summer of 2022, the company leaked personal data of more than a billion lines of Russians.

And then nothing good can happen for the company. Damage worth a billion, disrupted deliveries.
