Two people survived from the bus that fell into the St. Petersburg Moika River – the driver and one of the eight passengers, who is in intensive care. The video from the cabin shows that the driver was conscious and even tried to steer, but to no avail.

The Taxi company assures that the bus passed a state technical inspection on May 7 and was fully operational. The driver’s work and rest schedule was observed, although his wife claims that he was called to work after a daily shift and forced to go on a flight.

As colleagues from Lisa’s editorial office write, Taxi LLC has seven signed government contracts with the State Institution “Transportation Organizer”, which can be terminated after verification. The company served a dozen city routes using them. Until January 2023, it was led and owned by Tatyana Kalyuzhnaya, who was called a friend of the ex-governor of St. Petersburg, and now the head of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko. Then Taxi became part of the conglomerate HC Piteravto owned by Leonid Bondarenko, who, through a number of companies, owns a stake in Volgabas Group LLC.

If we make any personnel conclusions, then questions should arise to the director of the St. Petersburg State Institution “Transportation Organizer” Vadim Arsenyev, the chairman of Comtrans Valentin Enokayev and the transport vice-governor Kirill Polyakov.
