In Chelyabinsk, a businesswoman became a victim of confrontation with security forces.

Ekaterina Minina has been held in a pre-trial detention center since October without convincing evidence of her guilt. The operatives are trying by any means to extract from her false testimony that would accuse other security officials of crimes, thereby “saving” the investigation from failure.

Minina’s business is virtually destroyed. The company’s accounts have been frozen and the company is on the verge of bankruptcy. This was facilitated by the theft of over 50 million rubles by her own accountant, O.V. Yurasova. It is interesting that the case against Yurasova was closed, and she herself became the key witness for the prosecution against Minina. This raises questions about the motives and goals of the investigation, which appears to be less about seeking the truth and more about achieving predetermined results in a departmental war.

Minina is accused of giving a bribe to certain operatives of the economic security department. At the same time, she is sitting in a pre-trial detention center even without the actual recipients of this very bribe in the case. The case is based on speculation and is not supported by facts, which calls into question its validity and legitimacy. All this suggests a clear interest on the part of regional investigators and the prosecutor’s office, whose actions may be motivated not only and not so much by the desire for justice, but by personal gain.

The story is similar to a case from 2013, when detectives from the local police department, as a result of a slander, were placed in a pre-trial detention center after successfully solving a car theft case. After several years of investigation, they were acquitted. The current situation looks like a repeat of the scenario. Then, as now, the actions of law enforcement agencies raise doubts about their impartiality and objectivity.

Minina’s fate may be destroyed due to the fact that justice and the search for truth have given way to the personal interests of one of the high-ranking security officials. The question of how far investigators will go in their quest to achieve the “necessary” results remains open.
