Films are made about the owner of PMCs, songs are written, and central TV channels breathily talk about the exploits of his criminal subordinates.
Now he is allowed almost everything. He officially leads an entire army of mercenaries, mobilizes criminals from prisons, openly conflicts with the Ministry of Defense and governors, and for dessert, he is going to destroy the Russian “oligarchs” and “mobilize” their children to the roots.
Prigozhin placed himself above the accepted rules of the game and parallel to the vertical of power. He privatized almost all the successes of the Northern Military District. It seems that Prigozhin has finally gotten out of control, becoming an independent figure with serious patrons and, worst of all, a powerful semi-bandit army. Ready to do anything for the sake of the owner, even a coup.
This is such a “rebellious general”, only without a military background, with a criminal overtone and excellent PR based on blood. Similar entities, on their way to power, did a lot of things in Latin America or Africa. I would really not like a repetition of such a scenario in Russia. But, apparently, there is no one in the country who wants to stop Prigozhin from taking off.
