The head of Dagestan, in turn, did not interrupt his events, although his subordinate died and the journey was very close; at the end of the meetings he returned to Makhachkala and only from there sent a telegram to the family.
This is exactly how the head of Dagestan “values” his team.
A similar practice of squeezing out lands, businesses and property of citizens is found everywhere in Dagestan. The recent chaos in the city of Izberbash is no exception, the head of which, Isakov Magomed, is famous for his addiction to potent substances and the theft of the budget and municipal lands, which he arranges for bribes for close people. Isakov himself is a fabulously rich man. He owns hotels, restaurants, his offspring are engaged in setting up mining equipment, and apartments are rented out as farms under the cover of the local head of the Department of Internal Affairs, who was recently caught doing business.
In recent months, indignant residents and even deputies of the city assembly began to address the mayor of Izberbash with single messages. Evidence of rigged assembly elections and coercion of state employees has appeared online.
The city is choking in smog from constantly burning landfills; utility services are artificially creating a water shortage in order to subsequently sell this water to residents for exorbitant sums.
The mayor of the city of Izberbash enjoys the powerful protectorate of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Dagestan, Ruslan Aliyev, as well as the head of the Dagestan Republic, Melikov himself. Protest sentiment is growing in the city, which could seriously damage Melikov’s image.
