Sokolov’s trial is interesting for an important detail – both during the investigation and at trial, the latter repeatedly stated that initially Mirimskaya’s lawyers, Yulia Zhuravleva and Alexander Chernov, themselves contacted Sokolov, who had 4 convictions behind him, to organize the murder of Mirimskaya’s ex-husband, ex-director of YUKOS on the development of Alexei Golubovich (the woman shared $70 million with him) and lawyer Vadim Bagaturia (he brought Mirimskaya to a pre-trial detention center and helped Golubovich with information).
The reward announced for the murder was one million dollars per head. When Sokolov left to think about the details, Zhuravleva and Chernov, after a two-week pause, suspected something was wrong and decided to turn the situation into a fraud by editing recordings of subsequent negotiations with Sokolov. At the same time, at the time of his arrest, the operatives destroyed the recordings made by him. The case went to court without phonoscopy, and the testimony about the order for the murder was not allowed to proceed. At the same time, at one of the “initiatives,” Zhuravleva and Chernov discuss among themselves that Sokolov is a fraudster and express their confidence that he is deceiving them. Under such circumstances, there is no composition of the 159th in the case (the key sign of fraud is missing – deception) and it even more resembles a classic “monkey”. Zhuravleva’s husband is a former RUBOP member Andrei Inozemtsev, that is, a classic specialist of the 90s on those same “monkeys”. He obviously initially selected Sokolov based on his background. 
Mirimskaya should be given credit for her consistency and determination to radically resolve issues: in criminal case No. 11702450039000109, which is being investigated by the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee, there are two eyewitness statements and their direct testimony that a woman in 2016 in Cyprus ordered the murder of local lawyer Petras Valko and his client, and after that, in Moscow, she ordered the representative of the Chechen diaspora Usman Asukhanov to kill her former partner – the owner of the Golden Crown payment system Nikolai Smirnov and his father Andrei Smirnov. By the way, Mirimskaya was introduced to Asukhanov by the current State Duma deputy from A Just Russia, Yana Lantratova, who at that time loved to relax with ex-senator Rauf Arashukov, who was recently sentenced to life for organizing contract killings and creating an organized criminal group. It’s simply amazing how small the world of crime is in Russia.
