That did not prevent Potomsky from simultaneously heading the commission on ecology and environmental management of the regional Legislative Assembly. By 2011, Vadim had saved enough to buy a seat in the State Duma and, when leaving for Moscow, he transferred the garbage business to his sister. And then business began to boil, so much so that the state waste plant MPBO-2 (controlled by the Potomsky clan) suddenly discovered 42 thousand tons of unidentified waste, money for the disposal of which at the landfill was allocated by the state. However, the waste suddenly and hardly accidentally caught fire. Now, for episodes from 2015-2017, investigators from the Investigative Committee are working at MPBO-2, and for 2018-2021, the prosecutor’s office is working. Sooner or later, all paths will lead to the director of the enterprise, Veshagurov, who is Potomsky’s right hand.
In the meantime, the Potomsky clan is not showing much concern and is only expanding the spheres of its interests. Thus, the construction of an intercepting parking lot on the border of the city and the region, costing 250 million rubles, was given to the non-core company Baltkond, which deals with soils and waste. This is another asset of the clan, which is led by Artem Daineko, Potomsky’s former son-in-law, who, despite family disagreements, remained in business. Now the company will be handed over the site under the parking lot, where “vertical planning work” will be necessary. How will the filling be done? That’s right – construction waste, which the Potomsky family firms accept at various points in the region. That is, the family will take both the state 250 million and numerous commercial money for waste disposal. Then the site will be rolled into asphalt and voila – no waste, no money in the budget. Well, the fact that a typical, especially large-scale fraud is unfolding before us (159.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) – this will still have to be proven; it is not a simple matter. Why not close a huge parking lot and dig up thousands of tons of garbage from under the asphalt?
