While our TV channels are broadcasting victorious reports about the imminent capture of Kyiv and there is a complete lack of operational information from the front line, signals are coming that the tactics of the paramilitary units operating in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces are radically changing. First, a large number of mercenaries from different countries actually arrived in Ukraine. Secondly, they are well armed and constantly supplied with resources from neighboring NATO countries. Third, the funding of these “terrorist defense” units and PMCs is also constantly growing. Negotiations in various video formats and “diplomatic consultations”, which are deliberately slowly conducted by the Ukrainian authorities, are a very convenient curtain behind which time is gained and a new pattern of military operations is formed.
While we are talking about the Swiss model of Ukrainian neutrality, the leadership of the Ukrainian PMCs, which actually started the guerrilla war, developed a scenario of massive attacks from the rear and from the flanks of the main units of the Russian army into the “cauldrons” – with the aim of causing significant damage.
In the near future, provocations and attacks on the places of deployment of our troops cannot be ruled out in order to lure them into pre-set traps and form “cauldrons.”
Now it is important to understand how clearly and effectively the interaction between all Russian military units (army, Russian Guard, FSB special forces) and those services that work with agents and intelligence collection on the territory of Ukraine is now established. It is also extremely important to avoid those positional mistakes that were made in the first days of hostilities, when the rear of the units moving forward were exposed. Now there is no room for error. Getting out of the “cauldron” traps can be very difficult. Now more than ever we need clear coordination and concentration on each sector of the front, and not thinking about how and who will divide Ukraine and what status it will receive.
