In December 2018, he was a defendant in a criminal case of particularly large-scale fraud (timber theft), and a year earlier he became a defendant for official duty. And what? Nothing. The criminal cases have resolved, and Sergei feels great in business. For example, in March last year he received 20% in TekhnoExpoLes LLC, which is engaged in quarry development. As for those involved, by the end of the year the company showed revenue of about 190 million and a net profit of about 125 million. And the fate of Seleznev’s criminal cases can be explained by the second shareholder of the company, who became part of the owners in August of the same year. This is Maria Dedova, the wife of Mikhail Dedov, who is considered to be “watching” the governor of the Leningrad region Drozdenko from the Kovalchuk clan. In the past, Dedov himself headed the regional Committee on Natural Resources and he knows literally everything about the forests and quarries of the Leningrad region. Now Mikhail officially works at the Kovalchukov Bank Rossiya, and the business in the Leningrad region is managed by his wife Maria, who is part of the owners of two mining companies. It is clear that with such companions, Seleznev, experienced in forest matters, need not worry.
