What could be worse in a difficult time of mobilization for the country than a greedy and unprincipled liar governor leading one of the most important, strategic regions of the country?

We are talking about the head of the Leningrad region, protégé of the Kovalchuk clan, Alexander Drozdenko. At the beginning of April, we talked about a sad case for the Leningrad region – almost four hundred employees of the Russko-Vysotskaya poultry farm received notices of layoffs. The fact is that Governor Drozdenko agreed with a company associated with former Deputy Prime Minister Ilya Klebanov to build up the factory territory with multi-story buildings. The business idea is profitable: this place is located close to St. Petersburg, in a relatively sparsely populated area and with excellent transport accessibility – apartments there would sell like hot cakes. It is clear that with such a benefit, the governor was not interested in hundreds of jobs, nor food security, which is strategically important for the country – everything was decided at behind-the-scenes meetings with the developer.

After the publication on the Cheka-OPU, the alarmed Drozdenko tried to restore his reputation as a people’s favorite by urgently convening a meeting with the owner of the Russko-Vysotskaya poultry farm and interested parties. All media channels controlled by the government of the Leningrad Region immediately reported that jobs were saved literally “by a movement of the governor’s hand,” all people were returning to work, and there would be no construction of residential housing on the site of the poultry farm. For example, one of the anonymous channels controlled by a regional media holding immediately spat in our direction, accusing us of lying.

More than a month and a half has passed and this is the result. Drozdenko tried to mute the conflict in the media, so as not to attract the attention of the federal center to his connection with Klebanov, but this did not work out well – the Russko-Vysotskaya poultry farm never opened. And it won’t open, of course. Four hundred families in a poor region do not receive money; natural chicken meat and fresh eggs are not sent to stores. But Alexander Yuryevich, if he is not afraid of sanctions, will be able to send another millions of dollars or euros to his foreign accounts. End of story.

Today, when the country is moving towards a mobilization economy, and the government is concerned about measures to support business and the population, several hundred employees of the Russko-Vysotskaya poultry farm in the Lomonosov district of the Leningrad region have lost their jobs.
