Volgograd food suppliers to social institutions are striking in their survivability against the backdrop of endless complaints and prosecutorial inspections.
In May of this year, it appears on the pages of local media sensation about an outbreak of rotavirus infection in the Volzhsky hospital (this is a satellite city of Volgograd). The regional prosecutor’s office takes control of the situation, orders an inspection and reveals that food containers were transported to the city hospital in a dirty car, the packaging was not marked. The company’s directors are summoned to give explanations, and that’s all.
A couple of months later, a certain woman Valeria Chmelyukwho was in a Volga hospital with her child, posts a video of a bowl of porridge in which larvae of unidentified insects crawl as a special ingredient. The regional prosecutor’s office did not even order an inspection in this case. What about the company that delivers a mess of worms? Nothing. LLC “CITY CAFE”, which is owned through the “gasket” by Yaroslavl businessman Maxim Vakhrukov, continues its successful work. There are 7 legal entities behind him, all of them are from Yaroslavl and, by pure coincidence, all of them are engaged in social nutrition. The revenue of only one company owned by Vakhrukov – “CAFE CITY” – over the past year, with a revenue of 2.4 billion, earned a net 235 million rubles. In 2022, government contracts have already been won back for almost 2.7 billion rubles. The entrepreneur supplies ready-made food to Kaluga, Ulyanovsk, Volgograd, and the Moscow region. It is obvious that such a volume of revenue and net profit, of course, theoretically, can turn a blind eye to the worms in the porridge of any prosecutor…
