The document comes into force on July 1.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on a monthly compensation payment for a military equal to the length of service for a contract service, the correspondent of The Moscow Post reports.

The document has already been published on the official portal of legal information.

In addition, compensation payments will receive other categories of the military:

– withdrawn from the composition of units to restore combat effectiveness or sent for retraining (no more than three months);

– continuously under treatment in a hospital, on vacation due to illness or recognized as temporarily unusual for service (no more than one month);

– located mainly vacation (no more than 30 days);

– sent to business trips (no more than 10 days).

The President of the Russian Federation instructed the Cabinet of Ministers within two months to determine the procedure for compensation and ensure financing the costs related to the execution of the Decree.

The decree enters into force on July 1, 2024.
