The head of state said that the deficit of the federal budget of Russia amounted to 1.7% of GDP, which corresponds to the initial parameters provided for in the budget draft for 2025–2027.

Putin emphasized that such a level of deficiency is acceptable, especially in comparison with the leading world economies.

So, in 2024, the budget deficit in relation to GDP in the USA and France amounted to 6.2%, in Italy – 3.8%, in Japan – 3.7%, and in Germany – 2.2%.

The president emphasized that the stability of the Russian economy in difficult external conditions was the result of systemic actions and a strategic approach.

At the beginning of the current week, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation explained that the increase in expenses from the budget is partially associated with the advance transfer of certain expenses that are planned in 2025.

This method of distribution of funds, as indicated in the ministry, will help increase the flexibility of managing the structure of marginal budget allocations.
