The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case for accepting a bribe and mediation in bribery in Samara.
“According to the investigation, on July 18, 2022, the suspect, holding the position of head of the department, received 75 thousand rubles as a bribe through an intermediary from the previously agreed upon amount of 150 thousand. The illegal reward was intended for facilitating the election of a person suspected of committing a crime, a preventive measure in the form of a recognizance not to leave the place and changing the classification of the latter’s actions to a crime that provides for a lesser sanction,” said the regulatory department of the Investigative Committee.
According to security forces, the money was transferred by a subordinate to the suspect. She holds the position of head of the department for investigating crimes in the field of illegal drug trafficking and weapons. FSB officers carried out a special operation to detain the suspects together with employees of the internal security department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Samara Region.
