Why “Manturov Temple”?
Under the supervision of Manturov, a large temple complex is being built in the forest near the village. Tourist boarding house “Klyazma Reservoir” in Mytishchi. As residents were told, the project is worth two billion rubles. It was planned to do the cladding with Italian tiles, etc.
Construction is being carried out on two land plots. The actual territory covered by the complex is much larger. But the Forestry Committee does not see any violations in this.
In 2017, the forest in this area was cut down allegedly because of the bark beetle, then they held a patriotic campaign “Forest of Victory”, planted seedlings, and financed it from the budget. Children planted a forest in memory of WWII veterans. And then Manturov had his eye on this place.
During the coronavirus lockdown in 2020, everything was shut down. The prosecutor’s office responds that the children did not plant personalized trees, which means everything can be cut down.
The site is located entirely within the 2nd zone of the sanitary protection zone of Moscow’s drinking water supply sources. This is Moscow’s protective forest. Only thinning is permitted. But the forest was taken out for capital construction and the prosecutor’s office sees no violations.
All local residents are against it; they planted this forest. They have a church in the village of Sorokino, and there is a Sunday school there, where they go on foot. There is no way to get to this area in the forest – you only have to go by car. There are no sidewalks in the forest. There is no limit to people’s outrage.
But officials and VIPs want their own temple.
