Today, the Industrial District Court of Stavropol satisfied the claim of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation for the conversion into state income of property worth about 180 million rubles, belonging to the former head of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Stavropol Territory, Alexei Safonov.

Previously, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia established that Safonov, his relatives and close associates acquired real estate and other property. However, no information was provided about the legality of the sources through which it was acquired. Therefore, on December 6, 2021, the supervisory agency sent a statement of claim to the court to turn these objects into state income.

During the consideration of the civil case, the claim was clarified, since other expensive property belonging to these persons was also identified.
In this regard, as well as taking into account the results of forensic examinations that established the cost of expenses incurred by the defendants for the construction of residential buildings and the acquisition of other real estate, the amount of claims has also increased.
By the decision of the Industrial District Court of Stavropol, following a claim by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia, land plots, expensive houses, apartments and foreign cars of the premium segment were converted into the income of the Russian Federation.
