Today, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, and his first deputy, Eduard Kaburneev, arrived on a working trip to the Kemerovo region to the Listvyazhnaya mine, where on November 25, 51 people died in a mine working as a result of an emergency. The criminal case on this fact, on behalf of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, was previously transferred for further comprehensive investigation to the central office of the department. The investigative team included experienced investigators, criminologists from the Main Directorate of Criminalistics of the Investigative Committee of Russia, as well as experts from the Forensic Expert Center of the Investigative Committee of Russia. Five defendants are currently facing criminal charges. Depending on the role of each, they were charged with committing crimes under Part 3 of Art. 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, Part 3 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of two or more persons through negligence; negligence).

As part of the operational meeting A.I. Bastrykin heard a report from the head of the investigation team on the latest data from the investigation into the circumstances of the incident. The bodies of all the dead were brought to the surface and identified. One of the victims remains under treatment in a medical facility. They also discussed the areas of investigation in which active work is being carried out. Thus, among other things, the operating conditions of aerogas control sensors are checked. As part of the investigation, 125 forensic medical examinations have been appointed and are being carried out, as well as mining, computer and technical examinations, accounting and others. It is noted that to date, none of the defendants who have been charged have admitted guilt in the incriminated acts.
