Today – 07/05/2022, the judicial panel for criminal cases of the Krasnodar Regional Court, chaired by Judge Kuznetsova, during a new consideration of case 22-3189/2022 (newly received by the court of appeal after the cassation court overturned the illegal decision of Judge Bumagina) again overturned the conviction in relation to the rapist – Andrey Petrovich Filippov and freed the latter from under guards.

The “inexplicable” desire of the judges of the Krasnodar Regional Court to overturn a conviction against a person accused of committing two serious crimes against sexual freedom – Art. 131. 132 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and releasing the latter from custody raises serious concerns, taking into account the possible occurrence of A.P. Filippov. a natural desire to put pressure on the victim, as well as her family members, in order to change the testimony they gave.

The only thing that remains unclear is the position of the prosecutor’s office of the Krasnodar region, which either recognizes the rapist’s right to be free and pose a threat to someone’s children, sisters, wives, mothers, or will show integrity by re-appealing the decision of the appellate court.
