Let us recall that on October 19, 2021, the investigation brought charges against the rector of the Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences (Shaninki) Sergei Zuev in the case of theft of 21 million rubles. from the Foundation for New Forms of Educational Development when concluding government contracts for the implementation of the “Teacher of the Future” project in 2019, after which the Tverskoy court sent Zuev under house arrest.
However, the prosecutor’s office opposed the house arrest of Sergei Zuev and demanded Zuev’s arrest in the appellate court.
The defense of Sergei Zuev, in addition to numerous petitions for his release, a bail of 2 million rubles, provided numerous medical reports that indicate that being in custody of S. Zuev, who suffers from numerous diseases, is dangerous for his life.
Why did such a convincing set of arguments and evidence not allow Zuev to be pulled out of the pre-trial detention center?
The reason, as it turns out, is not at all where many associates and sympathizers of the rector of a respected university are looking.
The law office of Alexander Asnis (personal lawyer of Anatoly Chubais and Rusnano) acted as a defender of the rector Shaninka. Respected Alexander Asnis was asked about this by several people at once – among them were A. Chubais and his longtime ally Ya. Urinson.
In turn, Alexander Yakovlevich (Asnis) persistently asked Chubais to provide convincing assistance in collecting guarantees for Sergei Zuev. General agreements were with Chubais, technical agreements were with A. Asnis and his deputy R. Kozhura.
And this is where the fun begins. Ruslan Vyacheslavovich (Kozhura) showed fantastic activity: 200 people acted as guarantors for Sergei, numerous interviews, including with Novaya Gazeta, Meduza and Dozhd. It would seem that Ruslan should be thanked, if not for one thing.
Zuev’s lawyers and associates spoke so openly and carelessly about the medical aspects of his defense that they were “heard” and immediately recorded Zuev as a malingerer.
So now everyone is surprised how a person is kept in a pre-trial detention center after stenting.
