Fulfilled the agenda without thinking

In the story of the CPC shutdown, the Krasnodar court overturned the previous decision to suspend the work of the consortium for a month and replaced it with a 200 thousand ruble fine.

Let us recall that the previous decision, which jeopardized the largest international project of Russia and Kazakhstan, 80% of the pumping of Kazakh oil and deprived the republic of hundreds of millions of dollars, was made under pressure from the “ecological vertical”. An obviously ill-calculated and, above all, emotional step in isolation from the strategic plans of the state.

Such political decisions are not made right off the bat; it was necessary to consult with senior comrades, especially considering the friendly relations between the presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan, which were discussed at the Caspian summit just a few days ago.

However, not everyone is catching up. The Green Serpent TV channel, owned by Rinat Gizatulin, decided to intercede, going to the Krasnodar court and accusing CPC of a little bit of “ecocide”.

In parallel, a campaign was launched on telegram, where Gizatulin’s PR people had already accused the court of politically motivated decisions.

Firstly, someone explain to Mr. Gizatulin that the concept of “ecocide” has quite a legal basis in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, namely Art. 358, which defines this phenomenon as “Mass destruction of flora or fauna, poisoning of the atmosphere or water resources, as well as the commission of other actions that can cause an environmental disaster…”. Well, the punishment for this is appropriate – from twelve to twenty years.

Which, in this case (with the CPC accident), is nonsense.

And, secondly, a thoughtless PR initiative may cost Gizatulin’s patrons, represented by the “ecological vertical,” their warm places in this very green-geometric definition.
