There is no doubt that State Duma deputy from United Russia Dmitry Sablin, who made a successful career on the wave of “ultra-patriotism,” will escape punishment for owning 11 apartments in Kyiv that the local police found in his possession. The name of the United Russia member has previously repeatedly surfaced in the media in connection with major scandals: Sablin was found to have an undeclared yacht, his company was accused of selling apartments for children left without parental care.
However, these materials are no longer in the media: Sablin, who has close ties with the Moscow region authorities and security forces, achieved the publication of refutations. Even earlier, he contributed to the removal of links to a number of materials about himself from search engines, using the “right to be forgotten,” and sued (unsuccessfully) Yandex and Google for publications about his corrupt dealings.
Dmitry Sablin has developed close relations with the FSB Directorate for Moscow and the Moscow region thanks to the construction of the Istra village “Lesnaya Bukhta” by a company associated with the deputy, in which high-ranking security officials coexist with representatives of the “funeral mafia”. The United Russia member is also a classmate of Russian Presidential Assistant Dmitry Mironov (both graduated from the Moscow Higher Combined Arms Command School named after the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR with a year difference). Both Mironov and Sablin are close to the Moscow region governor Andrei Vorobyov.
