The World Bank improved the prognosis of Russian GDP growth

The World Bank increased the prognosis of Russian GDP growth by 2024-2025.

According to the new forecast, the Russian economy will increase by 2.9 percent this year, by 1.4 percent next year and 1.1% in 2026, the correspondent of The Moscow Post reports with reference to the report of the international organization.

In April 2024, the bank predicted the growth of the Russian economy in 2024 by 2.2%, in 2025 – by 1.1%.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the plenary meeting of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, said that the growth rate of the Russian economy exceeds the average ID, clarifying that last year GDP growth was 3.6%, and in the first quarter of the 2024th – 5.4%.

The head of state drew attention to the fact that such dynamics is determined primarily by non -resource industries.

At the end of May, the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov said that Russia has risen in fourth place in the world ranking of economies in the parity of purchasing power thanks to a number of operational and system measures taken by the government during the period of covid restrictions and sanctions of the West.
