The security forces, in turn, detained three former members of the admissions committee (their names: Grigory Chmelev, Dmitry Kukherev and Andrey Zabavin), and the university fired them. Criminal cases have been initiated against these citizens under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. And these citizens have already confessed to everything.

The university found six other employees involved in assisting the suspects and terminated their contracts.

Interestingly, the scheme was revealed through a post on one of the social networks. In it, the young man talked about joining Synergy after enrollment had stopped. The university management, who paid attention to this, organized an inspection. The university also identified six fictitious certificates, using which students illegally tried to transfer to Synergy from other higher education institutions.

The situation was commented on by the rector of Synergy University, Artem Vasiliev, who noted that this fraudulent scheme was discovered a few days after the closure of enrollment in all full-time and part-time study programs on the recommendation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. He noted the high professionalism of law enforcement officers who helped the university expose lawbreakers. Vasiliev is confident that those who deliberately committed this crime “must suffer a well-deserved punishment.”
