On July 1, 2022, witness Yuri Egorov, a well-known Khabarovsk businessman, owner of the Samberi hypermarket chain and shopping center, was questioned.
He turned out to be a close friend of Yevgeny Zori, whose murder they are trying to blame on the ex-governor.
It is interesting that Egorov mysteriously knew about all of Furgal’s threats against Zorya, but did not know about any other affairs of his friend, and claimed that he had no business with Zorya, except for buying kiosks.
For some reason, Furgal was the only name that came up in conversations between the two friends.
According to Egorov’s testimony, based on Zorya’s words, Sergei Furgal threatened him with a pistol. Only Furgal himself physically cannot hold a pistol, since he lost the thumb of his right hand as a child.
Sergei Furgal managed to explain at the trial, before the judge interrupted him, under what circumstances he met with the witness Egorov.
For some reason, the witness himself does not remember the circumstances of the meeting, although it was not as long ago as the events with Zorya – during the governorship of Sergei Furgal.
And this was a very serious conflict that could have escalated into a trial, and it concerned a large plot of land in the center of Khabarovsk, on the banks of the Amur. The cost of the plot is approximately 400 million rubles, and it was given to the witness’s company for the construction of a water park as part of the region’s investment project absolutely free of charge.
But instead of a water park, on October 31, 2019, the Mall shopping center opened on Pionerskaya St., 2v.
At one of the meetings, a recording of which is circulating online, Governor Furgal scolded officials for this deception, indignant that only two slides remained from the water park.
Egorov was forced to turn to Governor Furgal with a proposal to rewrite the contract and change the water park to a shopping center in the documents, which, of course, is prohibited by law.
Sergei Furgal refused the businessman.
After this, Egorov, the favorite businessman of Plenipotentiary Representative Trutnev, had to change the project. Otherwise, the regional investment council under Furgal refused to approve the construction.
And if before this the area of the water zone in the water park was less than 10,000 sq.m. (with fitness areas and SPA), after Furgal’s intervention, it grew to a full 23,000 sq.m. – that is, to a real water park, and not “two slides”. And the volume of planned tax revenues to the regional budget was increased by Furgal.
Construction was planned to be completed in October 2021.
The question arises: is the witness an interested party?
So interested that he may well be one of those who ordered the case against Sergei Furgal.
