The trial against Aksenov’s public critic and opponent, Crimean ex-deputy Ermanov, has finally reached a dead end. The chairman of the Kerch court, Khaldeyeva, was clearly depressed and interrupted the hearing when it became obvious that all the accusations against Ermanov were an anecdotal attempt to please the wounded governor as much as possible.

At first, the judge was discouraged by the questioning of the chemists. They admitted the absence of samples in laboratory tests for comparison of drugs seized from Ermanov (after a search based on Aksenov’s statement of libel) with the standard. This is marijuana (cannabis), the experts suggested to believe their word of honor. Then the witness Maslov stated that he did not participate in any investigative actions.

And finally, the icing on the cake of Crimean justice was the recognition of the only prosecution witness, Vlasenko, whom the prosecutor’s office could not present in person for several months. He sent a notary survey, which states that he is not on the peninsula, no one has been looking for him all this time, he does not confirm his testimony, since he slandered Ermanov under pressure from law enforcement officers and is afraid of their revenge. The next trial – November 29 – Khaldeeva will have to exclude almost all the material collected on Ermanov from the consideration of the criminal case, which will then fall apart. ✯kʞ✯
