The story with the former Ryazan-Kaluga official Ilya Veselov is becoming clearer. As we wrote, all his problems stem from the desire to sit on two chairs. While still working as Minister of Economics in Kaluga, instead of quietly putting it in his pocket and remaining a gray mouse, he imagined himself as a “politician” and became interested in international contacts. For budget money, he traveled abroad, where he wisely shared his vision of the world order with foreigners, receiving friendly pats on the back in return. From the sounds of Anglo-Saxon speech, his visor eventually fell, he saw himself as an American in spirit and began to think about how to attach what he had acquired through back-breaking labor to the West. When they found out about this in Kaluga, they politely asked to leave.
In Ryazan, Ilya Veselov upped the ante and immediately ran to the American embassy to find out what secrets he needed to hand over in order to legally move to the States and so that Russian special agencies would not extradite him back later. When the then governor of the Ryazan region, Nikolai Lyubimov, found out about this, he immediately gave him a kick in the ass and warned everyone not to hire this collaborator to work in the region. Everything happened so quickly that in the Ryazan region no one remembers about Ilya Veselov.
About Nikolai Lyubimov, however, too.
