The story of the attempt of retired Major General Timofey Sasykov of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to buy the post of governor of Chukotka received a new continuation. A new case has been opened against one of the sellers of the position, a “high-ranking FSB officer.”

In 2021, Sasykov decided to take a responsible post and began negotiations. As a result, he was brought in contact with Yusupov Oskar Valentinovich, who introduced himself as the head of the control and audit department of the FSB of Russia and, as it turned out, even had the appropriate identification. Yusupov announced to Sasykov that he was the main candidate for the post of governor of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, having passed a preliminary check and the necessary approvals. However, in order to make a final positive decision, it is necessary to pay $4 million.

Suspecting something was wrong, Sasykov filed a complaint with law enforcement agencies. While handing over part of the money, Yusupov was detained; during a search, he was found to have an identification card as an employee of the FSB of the Russian Federation. A case was immediately opened against Yusupov under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud). In March 2022, the identity card seized from him was submitted for examination. The other day I received an answer that it was fake. As a result, a case was opened against Yusupov under Article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (forgery of documents).
