Perhaps Sergei Bitiev, like many in the South Ossetian corridors of power, is a master of “set-ups” with the further “eating” of his political patrons. In gaining the trust of a future victim, the main thing is to make an impression, to “cast a fog.” This is followed by the successful completion of several cases beneficial to the patron, after which – climbing the career ladder. And only then – discarding the patron as unnecessary. Bitiev has proven the fidelity of this philosophy more than once or twice, as his former patrons can tell about (such as the ex-President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov, or the ex-Prosecutor General Uruzmag Dzhagaev, who, with the light hand of his successor, can be subject to criminal prosecution) .
Bitiev’s appointment will be another blow to the reputation of President Alan Gagloev, who will thus lose valuable and patriotic personnel in the Prosecutor General’s Office and will become increasingly weaker in controlling the situation in his region – the supervisory agency traditionally has impressive weight in the government system.
The fate of investigator Eduard Tandelov is still unknown, who, under the previous leadership of the supervisory agency, was forced to fabricate a criminal case against the future president Alan Gagloev and his brother Alexander. The Gagloev brothers were then charged with a serious charge of triple premeditated murder. Tandelov, who is called one of the most intelligent specialists, who balanced odious and corrupt colleagues, did not break down, for which he was fired from work under the “article”.
