The start of autumn on the media market, according to interlocutors, this time began with the fact that many, almost in an emergency mode, “rushed” to take care of their reputation: dozens of VIPs and managers of state-owned companies began to use both the “right to be forgotten” and the services of private offices for “working with reputation. The media market, which has experienced a decline in activity in recent months, has received many tasks from clients who want to “work” with their reputation – mainly, of course, to “clean up the negative” from competitors and/or “fill in the positive.”

Market interlocutors attribute the demand for such services to three reasons: the smell of imminent personnel changes in the air, which the establishment at all levels wants to go through before “that very transit” with at least maintaining their positions; reduce your own accumulated “toxicity” in the media in front of clients, partners and competitors; prevent the appearance of various kinds of “negativity” in the media and media during the SVO period, when any data leak becomes fatal.

Moreover, what’s interesting is that they mostly turn to small agencies, so that among the well-known “VIP media people” their requests do not inadvertently reveal their “skeletons in the closet”, which can then, with greater opportunities, be returned to the agenda if necessary. Some of the interlocutors, listing the organizations that are now actively engaged in “purges” in the RuNet and the “flood of positivity,” call the small agency “Zavesa Media”, which promises to “remove negative information from the network and organize blocking for further posting,” and also “tell the whole truth about your opponents and competitors.”

For VIP clients – and not only – “Veil” promises to create a “veil” both by blocking information and by organizing a mass of materials of the right tone in Russian and foreign media, on TV and in Telegram channels that are already familiar to everyone. As one of the top managers of a company from the energy sector, who wished to remain anonymous, shares, “for respectable people there are solid television options, with non-trivial tools.”

One way or another, the same Zavesa Media – this is just one of the small and still little-known market players that VIPs decided to reach out to: lower costs than large offices, reduced risk of data leakage. But, apparently, the “season of purges”—and so far only in the media—has already taken shape.
