The source spoke about serious “showdowns” between the Federal Chamber of Lawyers (FPA) and the FSB over the events in Ukraine. On February 27, a harsh statement appeared on the FPA website condemning the actions against the “brotherly people” and calling to “stop hostilities.” It was signed by FPA President Yuriy Pilipenko and such members of the FPA Council as Grib, Reznik, Semenyako, Klyuvgant, Dobrynin. The very next day, a second appeal appeared, signed by other members of the council, stating that “the bar is beyond politics. But united with her country and her citizens.” At the same time, council member Galoganov managed to put his signature on both the first and second appeals. True, his signature disappeared from the condemning address. And then all these appeals completely disappeared from the FPA website. The source says that this happened after a corresponding conversation with Yuri Pilipenko. And it was preceded by a report from employees of the FSB of the Russian Federation, assigned to the Ministry of Justice, that during the “special operation” the FPA very inappropriately decided to play politics, and President Pilipenko completely condemns the decision of the country’s leadership. The latter now literally shudders at any mention of this story.
