• All the “efficiency” of the Otkrytie led by Zadornov, which he trumpets both to the Ministry of Finance and throughout the TG space, is explained by the completely criminal machinations committed by Zadornov:
the loan portfolio of the sanitized Otkrytie of 2 trillion rubles was sold and transferred to the assistant Trust at a nominal value instead of the real market value, as is customary all over the world when working with problem assets. About 1.5 trillion rubles more expensive than their real, market value. This, in fact, was the uniqueness of the operation, which required the creation of a completely new scheme, the authors of which will undoubtedly be named
This scheme allowed Zadornov to both release reserves and receive cash from the Central Bank, and Trust – preferential deposits from the Central Bank – in the amount of 100% of the nominal amount of problem loans;
• Having stuffed Otkritie with freshly printed, issue-grade trillions of rubles, Zadornov, calling himself a start-up bank, took up the only thing he knows how to do (mediocrely, like an accountant from the distant past) – he began to reproduce again the meaningless and useless “retail bank” (we are “retailers” “a member of three parties, a former deputy of the State Duma, spoke proudly about himself)
Such a transformation finished off everything in Otkritie that still showed signs of life, putting an end to the IPO and sale;
• All current activities of the Otkritie-Trust financial group are now focused on turning the Trust into a mutual fund in order to reliably bury all the dubious transactions of Zadornov and his team in the structural confusion.
Although Zadornov, the author of the 1998 default, should take an example from the Menatep bank, which simply drowned a KAMAZ truck with all its banking documentation in the Dubna River in 1999 in order to hide the missing money hidden in Menatep St. Petersburg;
• The very fact of the existence of the Trust, the painstaking work of Zadornov’s accomplice Alexander Sokolov for personal enrichment through the collapse of several sectors of the domestic economy (heavy engineering, agriculture and others), together with the zero result from the recovery of foreign assets from unfriendly countries, is the subject of a separate criminal trial;
• Mikhail Zadornov clearly should have engaged less in public polemics with the top officials of the state and thought more about how not to end up in the dock. And in this matter, even such an indulgence as falling under sanctions may not help.
