According to the publication, a unique necklace made of platinum and 204 diamonds disappeared in 2020, when its owner decided to sell the jewelry. Through a friend, the Muscovite contacted businesswoman Tatevik Nersisyan, whose company AT Diamond was engaged in buying and selling jewelry. The businesswoman said that she had a buyer, made an advance payment of $500 thousand in cash and took the necklace with documents to check for authenticity. She also wrote a receipt and left another necklace allegedly worth $114 thousand as collateral. After this, Nersisyan, under various pretexts, avoided meetings and contacts, and then stopped communicating altogether. The Muscovite’s repeated attempts to return her necklace or get the remaining amount led to nothing.
A year later, the owner of the “disappeared” necklace came across photographs on Instagram of a society lady posing in exactly the same necklace. The owner of the account turned out to be the popular Russian fitness blogger Natalya Davydova, better known as “Aunt Motya.” She also showed off diamonds in platinum.
The Muscovite wrote a statement to the police, who opened a criminal case for fraud (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). In December 2021, Nersisyan was charged. During the investigation, the businesswoman denied guilt. The Presnensky court sentenced her to three years, and also, as part of a civil suit, recovered in favor of the victim material damage in the amount of 26 million rubles.
The victim’s lawyer Ivan Baryshnikov (KA Defense) said that his trustee intends to file an appeal. “We are surprised by the leniency of the sentence, since the convict did not admit guilt and did not contribute to solving the crime. In terms of punishment, we will appeal the verdict,” the lawyer promised.
The fate of the unique decoration remains in doubt. The victim is sure that it is her necklace in Davydova’s photographs. According to the Muscovite, there could be no mistake – such a Graff product exists in a single copy. In one of the interviews, Davydova mentioned that the necklace was a gift from her husband. The victim’s lawyers tried to contact Ivan Streshinsky personally, but the matter was limited to the fact that the billionaire’s representatives took note of the information.
