Islam Dzhambaev was an assistant to ICR investigator Ruslan Miniakhmetov for many years. Dzhambaev was seconded from the Stavropol Territory to the investigation team in the case led by Miniakhmetov. And soon Islam won Ruslan’s complete trust and became his personal adjutant. The ICR investigator had different cases, but the group always included the seconded Dzhambaev. And then Miniakhmetov recommended Dzhambaev to familiar employees of the 6th Internal Security Service of the FSB of the Russian Federation (then transferred to Directorate K). Islam carried out instructions when Miniakhmetov himself and his partners from the FSB did not want to “shine.” For example, it was Dzhambaev who received a bribe of 600 thousand dollars from fixer Andrei Matus (intended for Miniakhmetov and Dmitry Ulyanov from the 6th Service), took it to the ICR building and put it in Miniakhmetov’s safe. Ulyanov and his leadership from Directorate K highly appreciated Dzhambaev’s abilities and organized his appointment as an investigator for particularly important cases in the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee for the Krasnodar Territory. In this position, Dzhambaev was detained while receiving money for his senior comrades.
Its ex-leader Ruslan Miniakhmetov was also supposed to be behind bars. Matus, during interrogations at the Investigative Directorate of the FSB of the Russian Federation, spoke about numerous cases of bribes to Miniakhmetov and Ulyanov, including a bribe of 600 thousand dollars. For a long time, employees of the FSB of the Russian Federation collected evidence about the crimes of this group. As a result, dozens of witness statements, documents, payments, etc. were obtained. A corruption group was established (Dzhambaev is one of its “small” participants), which received millions of dollars and hundreds of millions of rubles from businessmen, as well as valuable gifts: executive foreign cars, expensive trips, etc. The Investigative Committee opened a case, Miniakhmetov was detained. And then Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, without any apparent reason, canceled the decision to initiate the case. Miniakhmetov (like Ulyanov before) simply quit.
As a result, Dzhambaev was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 9 years with a fine of 47,000,000 rubles with deprivation of the right to hold positions in the public service related to the exercise of the functions of a government representative for a period of 5 years.
