The position of the prosecution in the case of the murder of Shabtai Kalmanovich is increasingly “collapsing”. During the trial, the prosecution unexpectedly decided to give the jury a version that Kalmanovch, who was convicted of espionage for the USSR, was friends with Yaponchik and Kobzon, in whose arms Anatoly Sobchak died, could have been killed because of a small slaughterhouse in Vidnoye. They say that her activities displeased Kalmanovich and he even participated in some meetings about the possibility of closing the slaughterhouse. However, the administration of the Leninsky district could not remember such meetings at all. Kalmanovich’s secretary, who compiled the boss’s schedule, didn’t remember them either.

Now the sister and nephew of the accused Bagaudin Kostoev stated in court that at the time of the massacre of Kalmanovich, Bagaudin was at the funeral of his relative – an Ingush public figure, leader of the local opposition, member of the Expert Council under the Commissioner for Human Rights of Russia Makasharip Aushev. He was shot on the Caucasus federal highway. Moreover, the nephew even kept the corresponding video with Bagaudin.

As a result, by the end of the trial, the prosecution did not have a motive for the murder.
