The planned deficit of the Russian federal budget in the amount of 2.925 trillion rubles forces officials to look for new sources of its replenishment. This time the choice fell on the transport industry. In August, the Public Consumer Initiative estimated that up to 300 billion rubles of unpaid taxes were hidden in the “gray” zone of domestic logistics, and asked the government to double fines for violating cargo transportation requirements.

Now the organization has presented a rating of Russian groupage cargo carriers, which divided the largest players in the segment into “high-quality”, “doubtful” and “risky”. According to the authors, rating will help eliminate “gray areas” and bring business into the legal field. It will also help government agencies make “necessary regulatory and administrative decisions.”

It is noteworthy that only four companies out of thirty fell into the category of “quality” carriers – GC “Business Lines”, TK “KIT”, “Nordvil” and “PEK”. Public activists apparently have questions about other companies.

The creators of the rating assure that the list of companies will be regularly updated and supplemented. It is planned that it will soon cover all at least somewhat significant Russian carriers.
