Vrublevsky was previously convicted of “hacking” the Aeroflot ticket sales system. The case is the result of another war of the special services, operational support for it was led by the head of the 2nd Directorate of the FSB CIB Sergei Mikhailov, and all examinations in the case were carried out personally by the owner of Group-IB Ilya Sachkov. Then it turned out that Mikhailov transferred all the information collected on Vrublevsky to the USA. As a result, he was found guilty of treason and sentenced to 22 years in prison. Another episode was studied at the same time. Blogger Brian Krebs, closely associated with the US FBI, published a classified document from the “Aeroflot case”, which relates to the operational investigation of the FSB of the Russian Federation. The document was published in a form in which it could only be obtained directly from employees of the FSB of the Russian Federation, or from Ilya Sachkov, who, as an invited specialist, conducted its research. Sachkov himself then categorically denied handing over the document to Krebs. After the arrest of the head of the 2nd Directorate of the FSB CIB, Sergei Mikhailov, on charges of treason, the topic of leaking the document was raised again. Since Mikhailov denied any transfer of secret information at all, it was believed that it was through him that the document was “leaked” to Krebs. However, in 2021, Mikhailov began to cooperate with the FSB of the Russian Federation and give evidence. He said that the document was handed over to Krebs directly by Sachkov, he knows this because at that moment in time they were in close contact. As a result, an operational investigation began against Sachkov and he was arrested. In all these stories, Vrublevsky took a direct part in exposing Mikhailov and Sachkov.
