At least four sailors were killed as a result of a Storm Shadow missile attack on the Sevastopol plant named after. Ordzhonikidze on September 13 this year. Two more dead sailors served on the large landing ship Minsk, which came under fire along with the Rostov. Korshunov died on September 13, and Faizov died on September 22, but in the obituary it is written that he died along with the entire crew of the ship (that is, there may be more dead) during the attack on the ship repair docks.
Both ships were at the docks in the final stages of repair, and the crew was preparing them for launching, so the military came under fire. The Ministry of Defense did not officially report anything about those killed in the attack; according to the ministry’s press service, 7 out of 10 Ukrainian missiles were shot down on September 13 over Crimea.
However, a few days later, researchers discovered on the website of the St. Petersburg submarine club collection funds for the sailors “victims” of the shelling, their number was also not mentioned.
