The murder of Spartak general director Larisa Nechaeva, committed in 1997, has not been solved to this day. Although there is nothing unclear in the case. Throughout the existence of the “people’s team,” its money was simply embezzled: proceeds from the sale of football players; funds for participation in European cups, etc. All this money did not even arrive in Russia, but ended up in the accounts of the management of Spartak – Grigory Esaulenko, Yuri Zavarzin and Oleg Romantsev. Those budgets that were in Russia were stolen little by little by executive director M. Korotkov and manager S. Khadzhi. Moreover, in the first trinity Romantsev was far from the main one. Romantsev, who was a heavy alcohol abuser, obediently signed the documents that were given to him by Esaulenko and Zavarzin, who essentially ruled Spartak and its finances. Zavarzin was a former employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and had extremely high-ranking acquaintances through the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB. Esaulenko was associated with the leaders of various organized crime groups, including the Chechen one (brothers Ruslan (Movladi) and Turpal-ai Atlangerievs). The latter also participated in the “pilage” of Spartak’s funds. They started producing the Spartak-Cola drink, created a real estate agency under the auspices of a football club, and were going to organize a chain of gas stations called Spartak. The leadership of the RFU, including Koloskov, also had a share, which allowed that proceeds from participation in European cups, etc., not be returned to Russia.

Oleg Romantsev did not risk openly opposing such a distribution of money (and he considered Spartak exclusively his club), but called Larisa Nechaeva to put things in order. Its tasks were to concentrate all financial flows in one hand. Of course, it is unlikely that they would flow into the club’s budget. Now you won’t recognize it anymore. Nechaeva began to gradually move everyone feeding away from the club’s money, concentrating the flows in her hands. She did it firmly and consistently. As a result, she was simply killed. The performers were “thugs” Zdor and Tenoshvili.
And the traces from them led straight to those “feeding from Spartak”. The executive director of the Spartak football club, M.V. Korotkov, maintains relations with the leader of the organized crime group in Lytkarino, Valery Silenok. Silenok knew Zdor and Tenoshvili. Movladi (Ruslan) Atlangeriev was in prison together with murder suspect Vladimir Tenoshvili.

And it’s unlikely that this would have happened without the participation of Esaulenko and Zavarzin. However, Romantsev chose not to be frank during interrogations.
