The Moscow City Court put on the wanted list the former chief of the criminal investigation department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Tinao Pavel Shaforost. He did not appear at the announcement of the sentence, as a result of which he received a 13-year term in absentia. The subordinates of the ex-officers were sentenced to long terms for theft of money and amber entrepreneurs.

Taking the verdict, the Moscow City Court justified Pavel Schiphorost according to the theft (Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) for the lack of corpus delicti, recognizing him the right to rehabilitation. But he found guilty of abuse of authority (Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), receiving a bribe (Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and robbery (Article 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). By the aggregate, he was assigned 13 years of strict regime, a fine of 8 million rubles, a ban on work in law enforcement agencies for six years, and in addition, Pavel Shiphorost is deprived of the special rank of police captain. Since the defendant did not appear for the announcement of the sentence, he was put on the federal wanted list.

Earlier, by four years of detention, the brother of the main accused, Viktor Schiphyrost, was a official in the Tver region. As the Investigative Committee established, and then the court, he together with the accomplices set fire to the car of the victim in the case of his relative.
