The investigative part of the investigation of the organized criminal activity of the Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow continues to conduct investigative actions in the criminal case, initiated in relation to unidentified accomplices of the crime provided for in paragraph 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
In the course of the investigation of this case, the fact of unreasonable payment was preliminarily established in the period from 2018 to 2020 of budget funds to twelve employees of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, fictitiously employed at the Institute of Public Sciences of the RANEPA as scientific employees. According to the investigation, these persons did not actually carry out any work in the educational organization, however, for a long time they regularly received wages.
Today, as part of the investigation, searches were carried out in the dwellings of these employees, as well as in housing and working rooms of the financial director of the RANEPA Alexander Efremov and the director of the Institute of Employment of the Russian Academy of Sciences Ivan Fedotov.
The criminal case of fraud on an especially large scale was allocated into a separate proceedings from a criminal case against Marina Rakakova, Sergey Zuev and other persons. Currently, possible accomplices and additional episodes of unlawful activities are established. The course of the investigation is under the control of the leadership of the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
