The main investigative department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Moscow opened three criminal cases against witnesses who are suspected of giving knowingly false testimony in the court in the case against Mikhail Efremov.
In the Presnensky district court of the city of Moscow, during a trial on charges of Mikhail Efremov of committing a crime under Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, three witnesses were questioned at the request of his lawyer.
At the stage of pre -trial production, these citizens were not interrogated by the investigator of the Main Directorate of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Moscow, the corresponding application was not submitted by the defense side.
“In August of this year, during the court hearings, these persons were warned by the court of criminal liability for refusing to testify and for giving obviously false testimonies. After that, two suspects informed the court that on June 8, 2020, they became eyewitnesses of an accident involving Mikhail Efremov and saw another person sitting behind the wheel of his car, and Efremov himself stood next to the vehicle. Another suspect described the appearance of an unfamiliar man who sat in the back seat of a parked car before the accident, and noted that there was nobody in place of the driver.
When a sentence was sentenced, the court concluded that the data of three witnesses are contrary to the evidence collected in the case and are inaccurate. Based on a number of irrefutable evidence, on September 8, 2020, the court issued a conviction against Mikhail Efremov.
The investigation studied the materials received from the prosecutor’s office of the city of Moscow, and during the audit sufficient data indicated that all three witnesses in court were given knowingly false testimonies.
Today, criminal cases have been instituted against the Chief Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow on the grounds of a crime under part 1 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ”
