The main investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation completed an investigation into a criminal case against the former head of the Department of Communications of the Main Directorate of Communications of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Alexander Ogloblin. He was charged with committing a crime under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud committed by an organized group of persons on an especially large scale).

Investigators found that Ogloblin, together with the former chief of the Main Directorate of the Armed Forces, – deputy chief of the General Staff, Khalil Arslanov and other accomplices, concluded state contracts on behalf of the Ministry of Defense with Voentelecom JSC for the supply of equipment for ground -based satellite communications and monitoring centers of the network of network management overestimated cost. As a result, in the execution of contracts, they stole 1.6 billion rubles.
The accomplices of Ogloblin – the three former officials of the Russian Ministry of Defense, including Arslanov, as well as two representatives of Voentelecom JSC and the heads of three commercial organizations – were also charged in the framework of the criminal case, the investigation of which continues.
The investigation collected a sufficient evidence base, in connection with what a criminal case against Ogloblin with the approved indictment was sent to the court for consideration on the merits.
