The main investigative department of the IC of Russia collected sufficient data, on the basis of which a criminal case was instituted against Alexei Navalny and other persons on the grounds of a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on an especially large scale).

It was established that for the needs of a number of non -profit organizations, including the “Foundation for the Combat Corruption”, the “Fifth Topic Media support Fund”, the Fund for Organization and Coordination of Protection of Citizens’ Rights ”,“ The Fund for the Legal Support of Citizens ”, the“ Staff Protection Fund ”, more than 588 million rubles were collected from individuals as donations. These funds were intended exclusively on the goals of funds.

According to the investigation, Navalny, being the actual head of these organizations, acting together with other persons, spent more than 356 million rubles from this amount for personal goals – the acquisition of personal property, material values ​​and payment of expenses (including rest abroad). Thus, the funds raised from citizens were stolen.

Currently, investigative actions are carried out aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crime, as well as other persons involved in its commission.
