The leadership of the Belgorod Regional Duma was expelled from United Russia because of a book that negatively mentions Prince Vladimir, revered by President Putin.

Turchak expelled from United Russia the First Deputy Chairman of the Belgorod Region Duma, Elena Bondarenko, and the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Duma, Valery Sergachev. Earlier they were “visited” by security forces.

Claims arose against them because of the book “Shock” by ex-governor Yevgeny Savchenko.

Bondarenko and Sergacheva were related to this book, which Metropolitan John had previously publicly condemned.

“Shock” tells the story of who created man and why, and makes some very bold statements. In particular, it is said that Prince Vladimir, who chose the Orthodox faith, “went in the wrong direction.”
It is known that Vladimir Putin has a special relationship with Prince Vladimir. At the opening of a monument to the prince right next to the Kremlin, the president said:
“The new monument is a tribute to our ancestor, a particularly revered saint, statesman and warrior, the spiritual founder of the Russian State. Prince Vladimir forever went down in history as a collector and defender of Russian lands, as a far-sighted politician who created the foundations of a strong, united, centralized state that united as a result, into one huge family of equal peoples, languages, cultures and religions.”
