The largest corruption case in recent years is being investigated in Ryazan. Persons involved: four city administration officials, ex-adviser to former vice-governor Igor Grekov and former deputy mayor of Rostov-on-Don Vladimir Artsybashev, two business representatives.
The case is being investigated by the police, although such investigations are usually taken over by the Investigative Committee. Another strange thing: the court refused to arrest one of the main defendants, although this usually does not happen.

Officially, no details are disclosed by law enforcement agencies, but journalists found out everything from open sources, in particular, by comparing the costs of this government purchase with the costs of other cities for purchasing cars from the same manufacturer and even from the same batch.
And here’s what’s interesting: the data, from which one can simply draw conclusions about the inflated price, has been hanging on the government procurement portal since 2020, but the authorities only became interested in it now.
