The Dossier Center has obtained the results of two focus groups. They were carried out at the request of Kremlin structures among a patriotic audience of pro-war telegram channels and viewers of television propaganda.
One of the studies was carried out in July 2022, when the Ukrainian Armed Forces had not yet launched a counteroffensive, the second – in November, after a whole series of defeats for the Russian army

July 2022:
“There will be no Ukraine as such, that is, the central regions will remain, there will be Kyiv, Chernigov and so on. Perhaps Poland will take the west, Russia will take the east, and everyone will be fine, and Ukraine will remain what it was before the 1920s.”
“I support the military operation, but it’s difficult for me to come to terms with the current economic situation,” says the respondent. “Even beef is predicted to disappear within six months, because most of the beef came from Latin America, and Latin America doesn’t want to produce any more meat.” So let’s eat the poor pigs. Something like this”.
November 2022:
“Why do we even need these four areas? What the hell do we need them for? If it were really so, return everything that was taken. These areas make me neither hot nor cold.”
“I could live without Crimea. I understand that everything there is covered in three layers of Russian blood, but to pay such a price for it… I don’t know. How many people have already been put to death, how many more will be put there, the children died there. We will be cursed to the tenth generation. We will be outcasts throughout the world.”
“Moscow is behind us, we cannot retreat, we cannot stop at four territories, because the rest of the territories will be the same. Even if we hold onto this and agree on something, it will happen again in a year, in two, in eight.”
