The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continues to investigate the criminal case against former deputy heads of the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Alexander Biryukov, Alexander Krakovsky and senior investigator for particularly important cases of the second department of the department for investigating organized criminal activities of the SD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Alexander Bryantsev. They are accused of abuse of power (Part 3 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) by issuing unfounded procedural decisions to change Khudoyan, an accused in a criminal case that was in the proceedings of Bryantsev, from a preventive measure from detention to house arrest, as well as to cancel the arrest on land plots, theft of the lease rights of which Khudoyan was accused of. The latter was found guilty by a court verdict of committing a crime under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud).

Investigators continue to build up their evidence base. As part of the ongoing investigative actions, documentation relevant to the investigation is studied and interrogations are conducted. Information indicating the presence of signs of a crime in the actions of the defendants is carefully recorded. Taking into account the new data received on the circumstances of the crime committed, Krakovsky and Biryukov were summoned to the Main Investigation Department for interrogation.

Measures are being taken for a further comprehensive legal assessment of the extent and role of participation of each accused in the act incriminated against him.
